Let’s explore Italy (with The Earful Everywhere)

Big news here at The Earful Tower… we’ve been on a family trip to Italy and made a full podcast season about it. Our visit coincided with Easter weekend and the death of the Pope, during this once-in-a-generation Jubilee year, so you can imagine there was a lot going on.

Here’s the tagline for the show: Join Oliver and Lina – two “seasoned beginners” in Italy – as they meet a host of colourful Romans and Venetians, visit the key attractions, seek hidden gems, and showcase the incredible Italian culture.

Get ready for ten podcast episodes about Rome and Venice, a new one every Friday. And we’ve just started uploading them on a brand new podcast channel called The Earful Everywhere. The first episode is a fun one, it’s my wife Lina and I sharing our 23 observations about Rome. You should start there.

Look: In the pic below (on Via Margutta – you remember it from Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn), you can see Lina is wearing the pizza merch she talked about in the episode. Incidentally, full marks to our three year old, who took that picture.

Episode two features a chat about the perfect day in Rome (according to two locals – the founders of LivTours) and then we’re off to explore Italian food in Testaccio for episode three.

After that I’ll take you to the Sistine Chapel when it’s totally empty, inside the Colosseum for a quiz, and on a gondola in Venice, among many other things.

Below is the automatically-updating playlist, with a new episode appearing at the top of the list every Friday.

You can also find the episodes on Spotify here and iTunes here.

The whole season was made possible by the excellent travel company LivTours, which sent us on about ten tours of Rome and Venice (on foot, in cars, in golf carts, on boats…), and whose brilliant tour guides I featured on the show several times.

I urge everyone to follow the Earful Everywhere channel on Instagram and also on your fave podcast platform. It’ll cost you nothing, but it could help me to get future opportunities to explore the world and share it with you.

Again: Instagram here, Spotify here, iTunes here.

Music for the season is by Pres Maxson, and hosted by me, Oliver Gee, better known as the host of the popular “Earful Tower” podcast, which is all about Paris.

Now. Are you ready for Italy? Andiamo.
