My life as a Moulin Rouge showgirl

This week it’s off to the Moulin Rouge – the number one cabaret show in the universe (and one of the top attractions in Paris).

Luckily for me, I got to go backstage after the show to meet one of the lead dancers, Amanda Chapman, who has been a staple feature of the show for the past 12 years.

She explains how she landed the gig as a showgirl as an 18-year-old in Australia, where the snakes are stored, and why going topless is a badge of honour among the dancers.

If you want to find out more about the Moulin Rouge, visit the official site here.

Otherwise, click play below to listen to the interview – or find the episode wherever you get your podcasts.

  1. Great podcast! Might be biased… this magnificent woman happens to be niece. Very proud Aunty moment.
