Test yourself: How well do YOU know the Eiffel Tower?

The famed Eiffel Tower, stretching 330 metres above the Parisian skyline, is the topic of this week’s podcast quiz.

Hm, these are getting tougher….

4: Which slippery winter activity can you on the Eiffel Tower some winters?

Surely it isn’t skiing…

5: Which famous American visited the tower and left a note saying: To M Eiffel the Engineer the brave builder of so gigantic and original specimen of modern Engineering from one who has the greatest respect and admiration for all Engineers including the Great Engineer the Bon Dieu…?

This one is quite hard, but the engineering is a clue.

6: Gustave Eiffel, the head engineer, contributed to another exceptionally famous world monument. Which?

No more clues. Except to say the monument is very famous indeed.

7. What nickname does the Eiffel Tower share with Margaret Thatcher?


8. In 1987, a New Zealand man tied himself to the tower and did something very illegal, much to the annoyance of Parisian police waiting below. What did he do?
