Change is in the air and spring has finally sprung, it’s bringing in, coincidentally, some exciting developments at The Earful Tower.
1) 4 million podcast downloads
I was awed to discover that The Earful Tower podcast has reached the impressive milestone of 4 million downloads. As clichéd as it may be, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you and here’s to 4 million more…
2) The Earful Tower on TV
France 24 is one of the big television stations here. It broadcasts in both English and French and its culture show French Connections is currently doing a series about every arrondissement in Paris (which might sound familiar to longtime Earful listeners).
I was asked which arrondissement I would like to showcase and I chose the 4th, of course. We went to my three top picks in the neighbourhood – Place des Vosges, Hôtel de Sully and the Philippe Auguste wall. You’ll find the episode below and the video should automatically begin at my section.
3) The Earful Tower goes to the Big Apple
At the end of last month, I took a short short, solo trip to New York City. What a fantastic few days in a spectacular city. The cherry on top of the cake was a meet up we organised with some New Yorker Earful listeners and followers. I even made a couple of podcast episodes about this New York trip, which leads onto the next exciting update…

4) The Earful Everywhere
We’ve officially launched “The Earful Everywhere”, a sidekick podcast to The Earful Tower. The first episode of a two-part New York series is already published, and part two is coming shortly.
Then, the month of May will see the launch of a bigger, more in depth season somewhere else in the world.
For the faithful Parisophiles, fear not, regular service of The Earful Tower will continue uninterrupted. I’m excited to see where this side project will take us and our listeners. You can find it on Instagram, Spotify, iTunes now.
5) We took a private boat to farewell My Private Paris
Our most recent podcast episode marked our season finale. Since the autumn, we have been working My Private Paris who have thoughtfully crafted some unforgettable day trips out of Paris.
Together we have visited the Champagne region, Versailles, Chartres and Vaux-le-Vicomte and it’s been a real pleasure to be treated so well by company founders, and guides, Marie and Bertrand.
We pushed the boat out to bid farewell to this season – a private river cruise, taking in the Big Five sights of Paris: Notre Dame, the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, the Eiffel Tower and the Seine river.
Marie and Bertrand shared their invaluable wisdom and tips about each of these Paris show-stoppers, which you can also enjoy via the video below.
That’s it for now, folks. Thanks for listening, reading and downloading.
