Members Only: Walk Show video in the passages of the 11th arrondissement

Here comes a Walk Show replay!

If you’re new around here, this is where I do a live video walk through Paris, sometimes with a guest, sometimes solo.

This one was solo, showcasing the beautiful and mysterious courtyards/alleyways of the 11th district. Here’s a fuller blog post from earlier this week explaining the courtyards.

Now, here’s how to watch the replay on an unlisted YouTube link, meaning only members can find it!

Where: On this link. Or just click play below.

The map: Here is a rough idea of where we went (I made the map in advance), we started at the green flag at Bastille. As long-time members expected… I went a little off-script. That’s half the fun!

Pictures from the walk show!

As you maybe saw, I was taking pictures during the walk. Here’s what I got.

That will do for now. Thanks so much for being members!

Patreon-Only: ‘Behind the doors’ of the Philippe Auguste Wall

Hello members!

I’m experimenting here with a Patreon-Only blog post, featuring an older exploration, to see if this may be a user-friendly way to share posts like this. Let’s get into it, leave comments in the comment field below!

The Philippe Auguste Wall ‘Walk Show’

Below is the replay of my most popular Walk Show, where I explored the Left Bank vestiges of the Philippe Auguste Wall. Under the video are some pics and more information.

More pics and more info

During this Walk Show show, people had access to the pictures below. The idea was that if I couldn’t get inside a building, everyone would know what we were missing. (Turns out I got in everywhere… and more!)

Here’s the rough map of the journey. This is a map from many centuries ago. I started at the river, at the top of that oblong I’ve sketched in white.

Every picture from now onwards is from previous research of the wall. If you want the full show, watch the video above 🙂

Behind Doorway 1: The historian’s house

Building 2: Under the post office

Note, this is not my pic, I’ve not been here yet. It’s arched for the Bievre river to run through. Interesting link if you want to read more.

Building 3: Next to the post office

Building 4: Behind the fire station

Building 4: Behind rue Clovis

Bonus: Rue Mazarine car park

This chunk of the wall was not part of the walk show, and internet doesn’t work down there anyway, but here’s what it looks like!

That’s it!

Here’s my podcast episode from when I traced the Right Bank of the wall. Maybe I’ll make a Patreon video exploring that too!

Thanks for being a Patron of The Earful Tower.
