All you need to know about my memoir: Paris On Air

Hello everyone!

I’ve written a book! And not just any old book either, it’s a memoir about my first five years in Paris.

And I’m very excited to share it with you.

What’s the book about?

Well, it’s the story of my past five years in Paris. If I were to write the back cover, it’d start off a bit like this:

Join award-winning podcaster Oliver Gee on this laugh-out-loud journey through the streets of Paris.

A fresh voice on the Paris scene, he shares the soaring highs and crushing lows that come with following your dreams to the French capital.

He also befriends the city’s too-cool-for-school basketballers, chases runaway crocodiles, and goes on a mammoth honeymoon trip around France on his little red scooter.

You get the picture…

There are also a bunch of anecdotes and stories from the podcast that will transport you directly to the city of lights immediately!

Is the book any good?

Well, you can listen to the full first chapter on the podcast link below and decide for yourself. Or you can scroll through the reviews on GoodReads, where it has a 4.75 out of 5 star average after 130 reviews 🙂

One guy said he laughed until he cried at my description of how to sound like a Frenchman.

And the book was a lockdown bestseller at the Shakespeare and Company bookshop. In fact, the first print run of the book sold out after just two months so there’s gotta be something good in those pages!

So, how do I get a copy?

Here is the link to order the book directly from me, which is MUCH more helpful to me as a writer than if you buy it elsewhere. Or just scroll down and click the icons at the bottom of this page.

And don’t forget, it’s not just a book, there’s the audio experience too, which I narrated and which contains the voice of about 20 other people too.

Here’s the first chapter of the audiobook as a taster.

So what are you waiting for? The book is ready to go, get your copy today!

  1. Was a great episode….am so very glad that you have written a book and can’t wait to read it…well done Lina on your interview!

  2. Hi Oliver! It’s almost midnight and I’m sitting here in Vienna, listening to your stories and browsing through photos of my first stay in Paris… and I’ve realized I’ve been smiling for a good hour or so… so I’ve decided to write something here. 🙂
I’ve discovered you about a week ago and binged watched your videos on You Tube. Surely, I’ve heard you talk about your podcast but as I’ve actually never listened to any, I thought it is some kind of a super secret special club for members only, so imagine my excitement when I figured out that I can actually listen to them here! Finally, I have been really curious about the book- having the same appreciation for Paris and going through a similar experience in another European city, also in the last 5 years. Sadly, I still haven’t met my Lina, or Oliver for that matter, but Vienna is not quite Parisian, is it? So I was super stocked to find this gem- of you guiding us through the first chapter of your book! You know, I would really like to have the book, but I think I would actually be even more happy to own the full audio experience- it just seems like too much fun! So, I’ll just discreetly pop an idea of a New Year’s giveaway in your head… 😉 Greetings from an architect (I promise I’m not as bad as those French ones from the 19th).
Happy New Year to you and lovely Lina!
