Festive scenes in the Galerie Vivienne today So we were delivering some books to the musée d’Orsay and I said to the guy down in the depths of the delivery room “hey, is there a secret door that would take us up into the museum?” A new find: here’s the eighth tower I’ve discovered from the ancient Philippe Auguste Wall. This one is inside the headquarters of a perfume shop on the Left Bank. And there are two others nearby. Last night I took thirty people on a mystical magical walk through Paris to celebrate the earful towers annual Christmas party. Along the way we bumped into five characters from the past 1500 years of French history. And it all ended in a big singalong near the Luxembourg Gardens. What a fun night, thanks to all who were involved. More stories and photos to come!! Bigger write up in today’s newsletter! Festive vibes at the hotel de ville in Paris :) Notre Dame update: it looks like they’ve added a new spire. It looked magnificent during tonight’s sunset. In the last picture, when the sun was down, you can see through the scaffolding to the spire itself. Estimated open date: December 2024.
